Archive Restoration and Access

Restored sections are available now. Browse the Motoring, Camino de Santiago and Books archives through the links below. Restoration of the wider Telegraph Online collection continues.

Read the restored archives

These are historical publications. Prices, specifications, contact details and practical advice may no longer be current. Some pages retain their original presentation.

Material on the Wayback Machine

The Internet Archive holds snapshots from different periods of the website. These can help readers locate material that has not yet been restored here, or consult an earlier version of a page. Coverage varies by date and address.

About the collection

The Telegraph Online archives extend back to 1992. Our origins predate the World Wide Web: in 1982 we were using Telnet on university mainframes, and by 1987 we operated as a bulletin board system (BBS). We moved onto the Web in the mid-1990s.

Restoration continues

Older material is held across legacy drives and files. Further sections will be made available as their contents and links are checked. Wherever possible, original article addresses are being preserved so that existing references remain useful.

Some early material predates the Wayback archive. Those records require recovery from the original collection.

When citing a restored article, use its address on this site. When citing a Wayback copy, use the dated snapshot address so readers can identify the version consulted.
