Archives Incoming — Consult the Wayback Machine

We’re restoring the Telegraph Online archives, which extend back to 1992. Our origins predate the World Wide Web: in 1982 we were using Telnet on university mainframes, and by 1987 we operated as a bulletin board system (BBS). We moved onto the Web in the mid-1990s.

Our older content lives on multiple legacy hard drives. We’re preparing and verifying those disks, normalising file structures, and mapping original paths (e.g., /04camino/, /Archive/) into WordPress. This will be published here in phases to maintain integrity and citation stability.

In the meantime: many pages from different years were captured by the Internet Archive’s Wayback Machine. Some early material predates the Wayback crawl era and won’t appear there; we’ll publish those items here as we verify and convert them.

What to expect while we restore:

  • Progressive publication: restored sections will appear here first with clean URLs and updated navigation.
  • Authentic originals: where possible we’ll preserve original filenames and directory references for citation integrity.
  • Pre-Wayback material: items older than the Wayback era (and BBS-era documents) will surface here as they are verified and converted.

If you’re citing our work during the transition, you may link either to the Wayback snapshot or to the stable path on this site once republished. We’ll keep redirects and references consistent to avoid link rot.
